Basketball Training in Greenport, NY

ELITE SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR THE NORTH FORK

Don't let the maritime wind kill your jump shot.

Greenport is the "Jewel of the North Fork," but for a dedicated basketball player, the winter months are brutal. When the coastal winds whip off the harbor and the courts at Third Street Memorial Park are frozen over, "Winter Stagnation" sets in. Shooting percentages drop, handles get sloppy, and conditioning fades. X-Factor Basketball Training provides the consistent, high-intensity environment serious athletes need to stay sharp while others are sitting idle.

We are not a summer camp or a substitute for the North Fork Kid Connect tournament. We provide advanced, pro-level instruction for athletes who are ready to separate themselves from the competition and refine their mechanics, footwork, and basketball IQ under the guidance of a current professional.

Why Choose Us

Beat the Winter Freeze

With high winds and freezing temps from December to March, outdoor training in the village is impossible. We provide the climate-controlled consistency you need to improve while the courts at Fifth Street are empty.

Professional Pedigree

You are training with Xavier Allen, a NY State scoring leader and active pro. This is mentorship rooted in real high-level experience, teaching you the nuances required to compete against Section 11 rivals like Bridgehampton.

No Beginners Allowed

We respect the "Porter Pride" standard. We do not accept beginners. You will train alongside other motivated, competitive athletes who are at an "Advanced 6th Grade" level or higher.

Local Access

We understand the value of local access in a walkable village. We bring elite-level attention to detail to the Greenport area, so you don't have to rely solely on restricted school gym hours for quality reps.

1-ON-1 COACHING FOR PORTER HOPEFULS

Private & Semi-Private Training

The culture of "Porter Pride" runs deep, but earning minutes in high-stakes games against Shelter Island or the Killer Bees requires more than just spirit. Our Private and Semi-Private training is designed to build the specific assets, shooting consistency, ball-handling under pressure, and defensive IQ, that make you indispensable to your coach. Led by Xavier Allen, we focus on the "Details" that allow you to execute within a system while maintaining the ability to take over a game when necessary.

We do not rely on scripted drills that look good on social media. We work on game-transferable skills that hold up against physical defenses in real varsity games.

Our Focus Areas Include:

Elite Footwork & Balance:

Learning to operate efficiently in tight spaces, mirroring the mechanics Xavier uses against pro competition.

Game-Speed Shot Creation:

Moving beyond stationary shooting to master spacing, pace, and creating your own shot off the dribble.

Basketball IQ & Decision Making:

Understanding why to make a move, not just how. We teach you to see the floor like a pro.

Defensive Mechanics:

Advanced positioning and agility work to ensure you can guard the best player on the opposing team.

Mentorship:

Honest feedback on what it takes to succeed, from a trainer who currently navigates the professional basketball landscape.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly do you train in the Greenport area?

We utilize dedicated indoor facilities accessible to Greenport residents. While Third Street Memorial Park is the heart of the community, it isn't an option during the winter. Our indoor locations provide a professional environment with standard rims and consistent flooring, ensuring your development never stops due to weather.

Do you accept beginners from Greenport Elementary?

No. We maintain a strict standard to ensure the quality of training for all clients. Athletes must be at an "Advanced 6th Grade" level or higher with prior competitive experience. We are best suited for players looking to excel in travel, school, or collegiate basketball.

How does this differ from the North Fork Kid Connect tournament?

The tournament is a fantastic community event for competition and exposure. X-Factor is specialized technical training. We focus on the daily grind of skill acquisition, mechanics, footwork, and IQ, that prepares you to perform at your best when tournament time comes around.

Can you help me prepare for the Porters varsity season?

Yes. This is exactly who we serve. Our training is designed to translate directly to competitive play. We work on the specific skills, consistency, decision-making, and conditioning, that varsity coaches look for when building their rotations for Section 11 play.

Do you offer training for summer residents near the Ferry?

Yes, provided the athlete meets our skill requirements. We know the population grows in the summer. If you are a serious athlete visiting for the season, we can provide the high-intensity maintenance work needed to ensure you return to your home team sharp.

Do you work with players from Shelter Island?

Yes. We welcome serious athletes from across the ferry. If you are willing to make the trip from Shelter Island to put in the work, we will train you. We understand the dedication it takes to travel for elite instruction.
