MATTITUCK BASKETBALL INSIGHTS
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do you train in the Mattituck area?
We utilize dedicated indoor facilities accessible to North Fork residents. While the outdoor courts at Aldrich Lane or Jean Cochran Park are fine for summer runs, our indoor locations provide the consistent, climate-controlled environment necessary for serious skill building during the harsh winter months.
Do you accept beginners from Cutchogue East Elementary?
No. To ensure the highest quality of training, we strictly accept athletes at an "Advanced 6th Grade" level or higher who have prior competitive experience. Our program is designed to take good players and make them elite, not to teach the basics of dribbling.
My child plays for the school team. Does this conflict with their practice?
No, it complements it. School practice focuses on plays, schemes, and conditioning. X-Factor focuses on individual mechanics and skill acquisition. We provide the technical refinement that coaches often don't have time to address during limited gym hours.
Do you offer training during the Strawberry Festival weekend?
We train year-round. While the town celebrates its agricultural heritage, serious athletes know that consistency is key. We offer flexible scheduling for our private clients to ensure they can enjoy local events like the festival without sacrificing their development.
How does your training help with League VI competition?
League VI is physical and competitive. We prepare athletes for this intensity by drilling game-speed decisions and physical finishes. We teach players how to handle pressure, protect the ball, and execute efficiently against the types of defenses they will see in actual games.
Do you work with players from nearby towns like Peconic or Southold?
Yes. We serve the entire North Fork. Whether you are coming from near the Mattituck Inlet or driving down from Southold, if you are a serious athlete committed to the game, you are welcome at X-Factor.
